Food hotspots in Berlin

On our way to Germany we made a stop in Berlin eager to explore the new Foodie Hot spots and of course do some sightseeing as well.

We were surprised how many Foodie Hot Spots Berlin has to offer!

The best way to explore Berlin is by bike…we would suggest going to berlinonbike.de. They offer different kinds of tours and even have guides that speak Dutch. The location to pick up your bike is called the Kulturbrauerei in Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg.  Very cool.

So start off your morning by bike and return to the Kulturbrauerei around 14.00. You will then absolutely be ready for lunch! The Sunday Food market will be set up. Loads of Food Trucks with all kinds of food, sandwiches, cheese fondue, bratwurst, double layered cakes, special beers and more!

After this food experience take a short walk to Mauer Park, it’s Vondelpark style. Music performances, acrobats, food and drinks and second hand items and plenty of open air to relax. You’ll even get a glimse of the Berlin wall as well.

Then it is off to Neue Heimat, Revaler Strasse 99 in Berlin. A great place to take pictures with a lot of inspiring graffiti walls.

Another great spot just outside the center, but oh so easy to reach by metro, is also called Streetfood Berlin Village Market. Check their website for foods tasting and special events!

On Friday’s and Sunday’s you can visit the Fleemarket. Which is a bit like Waterlooplein in Amsterdam.

Foodhall Nine in the area Kreuzberg is a must see-eat-explore experience, especially on Thursday from 18.00 till 20.00! The best place to have dinner with friends. Love the specials like the famous Berlin meatballs, Knodels, special cheeses, barista’s, wines, Israeli Malawach, Pizza’s, slow cooked meat, vegetarian Turkish delights and many, many more.

The last food area that we will recommend is Oranienstrasse and Bergmannstrasse. Cosy restaurants on both sides of the street. If you like garlic, try Knofi a mediteranean restaurant with delicious soups, salads and deserts.

Besides Apart from all of the foodie-spots there is so much more to explore in Berlin. It’s like an open air museum. Take a ride or walk along the river Spree and relax at one of the city beaches with a Berlin cocktail and Flammkuchen
